Leaders Read#10

👋 Hello everyone,

Here are a couple of posts you might have missed:

📚 Book Summary:

This week's book is "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield.

If you're seeking a book that can motivate you to take action, then this is the one for you. The War of Art is a great book for getting your creative muscle into gear. Famous Stoic writer Ryan Holiday even revisits this book prior to embarking on his next book project, ensuring he's in the right mindset.

One of my favorite take away from the book is this:

"The writer is an infantryman. He knows that progress is measured in yards or dirt extracted from the enemy one day, one hour, one minute at a time, and paid for in blood. The artist wears combat boots. He looks in the mirror and sees GI Joe. Remember, the Muse favors working stiffs. She hates prima donnas. To the gods, the supreme sin is not rape or murder but pride. To think of yourself as a mercenary, a gun for hire, implants the proper humility. It purges pride and preciousness."

✅ Actionable advice:

Be a professional even when you don't feel like it. Have grit and determination that you will get the work done. Shorten your to-do list to the five most critical and start with the one you want to do the least—now, with that out of the way, you are on your way to a day of victory. Then repeat.

🧠 5 things I’m thinking about (November 25, 2023)

1.Purpose is only the start. You still need to execute.

2.Onboarding Dashboard to validate 20 cases closed.

3.Working on the Mission/Vision Pyramid.

4.Next years strategy is coming together.

5.Leadership is about respecting others first.

Have a great week, and keep on reading!

Best,

Lars
