Leaders Read#36

"I desire to conduct the affairs of this administration in such a way that if at the end, when I come to lay down the reins of power. I have lost every other friend on earth. I shall have at least one friend left, and that friend shall be down inside of me." ~Abraham Lincoln.

👋 Hello everyone,

Here are a couple of posts you might have missed:

📚 Book Summary:

This week's book is "Good leaders ask Great questions" by John Maxwell

This book takes you back to the start of your journey as a leader. It highlights areas like integrity and character that need your attention to improve your leadership skills. It gives helpful tips on handling a tough boss or leading a team of low performers. Filled with hundreds of questions, this book is your guide to personal and professional growth.

One of my favorite take away from the book is this:

"Every day, leaders must wake up and lead themselves before they lead anyone else. Because other people are depending on them, they must keep the fire burning within themselves."

✅ Actionable advice:

Leadership always makes us think of others, but lately, I've thought about what needs to happen before—what do I need? I've started a journalling habit in the evening. If the greatest emperor of Rome, Marcus Aurelius, needed it, maybe I need it too. I write a sentence for each category: Heart, Health, Learning, Growth, and Gratitude—reflecting on the day just as a modern-day emperor would.
