👋 Hello everyone,
Cal Newport said, “Clarity about what matters provides clarity about what does not.”
Here are a few resources you might have missed:
📚 Book Summary:
This week's book is "High Performance Habits" by Brendan Burchard.
This is the book that gives you the recipe for operating at a super high efficiency level. It includes Performance Prompts that will help you map out how to become a high performer in the workplace and at home.
One of my favorite takeaways from the book is this:
"Life is short. We're only allotted so much time to make our mark. I say that's all the more reason to get focused. Stop producing outputs that don't make your soul sing. Avoid trying to be effective or efficient by doing things that you're not proud of and make no impact."
✅ Actionable advice:
Leaders need to lead themselves first. It's Simon Sinek's principle of "Starting with Why," or perhaps more actionable, Cal Newport's Optimized Value Plan. Start by writing down your personal and professional core values. Core values will change over time, but the most important thing is that you have something written down and that makes sense to you. It gives you intention and direction in your life, and you need to review them weekly. This habit ensures that you look within yourself and are not a slave to someone else's priorities.
Have a great week!
