👋 Hello everyone,
Bill Gates said, "As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others."
Here are a few resources you might have missed:
📚 Book Summary:
This week's book is "Anything You Want" by Derek Sivers.
Anything you want is a re-write of Derek Sivers's first book that tells his story about his company and lessons learned. You will find Sivers refreshing philosophy of life both insightful and inspiring.
One of my favorite takeaways from the book is this:
"Delegate, but don't abdicate. To abdicate means to surrender or relinquish power or responsibility. This word is usually used when a king abdicates the throne or crown. Instead, trust but verify. Remember it when delegating. You have to do both."
✅ Actionable advice:
Be the leader who ensures that potential issues, rabbit holes, and no-goes are obvious and communicated. Be the leader who makes the most junior person present at All-Hands with the entire team in the background, ready to answer questions. Be the leader who understands that trust and delegation are the recipe for great things.
Have a great week!
