👋 Hello everyone,

Simon Sinek said, “Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.”

Here are a few resources you might have missed:

📚 Book Summary:

This week's book is "Bringing Out the Best in People" by Alan Loy McGinnis.

This leadership book is like a manager’s pocket guide. Written in the 1980s, it carries the same conversational tone and directness as Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People. It will give you twelve chapters, each highlighting an area of focus.

One of my favorite takeaways from the book is this:

"Whether it applies to loving our mates or motivating our vice-presidents, is the importance of beginning with the needs of the other person. Some think they must lead by beating their chests and saying, "Follow me, I am strong, and I know more than you." But the real leaders say, "Tell me about yourself." They know that if they listen long enough, people will explain how they can be motivated."

✅ Actionable advice:

Leadership is often imagined as loud and commanding—Churchill's stirring speeches, Roosevelt charging into battle. But there are equally powerful alternatives: Mandela, who waited to speak last, and Gandhi's Salt March, which defied British law. You get to choose the kind of leader you become. As Daniel Coyle writes in The Little Book of Talent, "Tip #1: Stare at who you want to become." Pick one leader whose style resonates with you—then apply one of their habits this week. That's not fluff. That's strategy.

I hope you have a great week!
